‘A natural sense of community within BAM’
My name is Yohanes Lasamahu. I’m a planning engineer at BAM International’s Indonesian branch, and currently stationed at the Tanjung Jati jetty project. My role is to deliver concise, realistic and well-presented planning packages for the project and also to monitor and report the project status. Finally, my role involves the responsibility to ensure that the project schedule stays aligned with the contract schedule and target schedule.
Motivating work environment
When working on a project, I often need the input of other employees. In my experience, BAM has a good collaborative workplace culture that results in a natural sense of community, with employees feeling almost like they are a part of a family. Sharing knowledge with other BAM employees worldwide gives me motivation and new perspectives on how to make a good planning based on their best practices.
BAM also accommodates and gives enough concern about feedback from their employees regarding work processes. For instance, the BAM International Innovation Day in Delft, the Netherlands, gave us a lot of room for ideas on innovation and that really motivates me to be part of this company.
Ambition for the future
I really enjoy working at BAM and sharing in the expertise of so many colleagues. This work environment challenges me to be better and better, and someday I hope to be able to play my part in planning and project management.
